Who is a lupus specialist

The BWH Lupus Center is staffed by 14 board-certified rheumatologists who together care for more than lupus patients annually. Our Center uses a cooperative clinical care model with many affiliated BWH medical specialists, including dermatology, nephrology, neurology, obstetrics and gynecology, and cardiology, all with specific expertise and interest in lupus, allowing for timely, comprehensive and cutting-edge coordinated care.

Our rheumatologists also specialize in the transition of pediatric and youth care to adult care for lupus and related disorders, and care of women with lupus in their family planning and pregnancies. We ensure rapid access, timely appointments for our patients, and communication with all other care providers.

The BWH Lupus Center is part of our BWH Lupus Program , an extensive research initiative focusing on advancing the understanding and care of patients with this complex autoimmune illness.
